Though the headline does sound suspiciously The Onion and the news may be a bit ripe, British Sea Power have placed their flag firmly upon the summit called Mt Museum Rock by playing… The Natural History Museum!
This Saturday (June 21st), London’s Natural History Museum will be playing host to those Brighton-based beach-headers for a one off free performance featuring films from the NHM archives and of course, the music of BSP. Expect choruses of ‘Easy! Easy! Easy!” to endanger the structural integrity of the already extinct.
British Sea Power aren’t the first band to play an out of the ordinary venue and certainly won’t be the last: Johnny Cash was well known for his prison shows, Being 747 regularly take their evolution-based concept show to schools throughout the UK and the Cramps even played amongst the patients at Napa State Mental Hospital. It is still considered a miracle that they were permitted to leave.
Capacity for the show is strictly limited to 600, so get in quick and nerd it up big style.
